Creating a blog as easy as opening an instagram account!
Your life is 100% online. So is everybody else’s. Not standing out of the crowd can harm your immediate income, confidence and relationships.
Your boss reads blogs everyday, your friends share cool stuff online and your future partner is currently on the internet (just like you right now!)
Why should I start a blog?
It’s simple really. The easiest way to mark your place as a winner online, is to own a part of the internet that belongs only to you.
Social media like twitter, facebook and instagram erase your posts from your followers’s feed in a matter of seconds, by showing them 100’s of other similar profiles.
A blog is forever!
People across the world listen to you via your blog. You may not even know me, but you are on my blog right now!
My blog has given me a lot of opportunities – I have met new clients via this blog, my posts (including this one) have been shared online by 100’s people, my friends and colleagues think of me as the cool guy who runs his own blog.
When someone visits my social media profiles, they click on the link to my blog and read my articles here for an average of 7-15 minutes. Now that you’ve understood how putting your voice online can upgrade your life to the next level,
Let’s Get Started!
Within the next 30 minutes, I will give you the exact steps you need to build a live wordPress website with your own hands. You need absolutely NO coding skills or technical knowledge for this.
Ready to build your own blog? Superb! Here we go.
If you do not see a huge potential in owning your own blog, stop reading any further. However, if you are charged up to launch your own blog right now, this guide is made for you!
p.s. I encourage you to actually do these steps on a new tab as you read along. If you do so, you WILL have created a brand new website in the next 30 minutes!
1. Sign up for a website name on Bluehost.com
(Click on this link to get a 35% discount).
- The market leader in web hosting for WordPress websites.
- Most helpful customer support that I’ve encountered.
- Very easy to setup and manage.
- Bonus: It gives you a FREE domain name!
2. Select the starter plan.
The starter plan will let you host 1 website.
If you plan to create more than one website, then you’ll need to choose the plus plan.
3. Sign Up
As promised, Bluehost gives you a free domain name while signing up.
Type in the domain name (website name) you desire and press next.
4. Fill in your correct information.
Make sure to double check for spelling errors.
5. Select your plan.
You can buy hosting for upto 3 years.
Also, consider paying the 0.83$/month fee for domain privacy protection. It protects your personal information from being publicly accessible to spammers.
Also, leave all the other checkboxes empty. You don’t need them.
6. Enter your credit card details.
Type your credit card number, date of expiry and the 3 digit cvc code at the back of your credit card.
7. Create a secure password.
Using your new username and password, login to your Bluehost cPanel.
8. Installing WordPress
Click on the “hosting” tab on top. Then click on the “WordPress” icon under website builders.
Ignore all the other icons for now.
Some of the best things in life are free. WordPress is one of them.
Almost 95% of all the websites you love use WordPress. You are about to join that club!
9. Go for the free option.
Simple, isn’t it? We are almost there.
10. Continue with the WordPress installation
Select your domain and leave the directory option empty.
11. Create a WordPress username (Most important step)
Write your desired site name
Under advanced options, create a new admin username and password. You will need these to log into your WordPress website.
Pro Tip: Never name your WordPress username as “admin”. It makes your website vulnerable to evil hackers. Create a secure, difficult to guess username and password.
Ensure the checkboxes are selected green. Click ‘Install Now’.
12. Let BlueHost install WordPress
Wait for the Installation to get completed.
Ignore everything else on the page.
13. WordPress Installed!
Click on “View Credentials”
14. Almost at the end..
Click on “View”.
15. Last Step..
You have done it! You have just created your brand new website within 30 minutes!
Type your domain name in your browser’s address bar.
Guess what? Your brand new WordPress website is waiting for you!
Pop a champagne bottle and give yourself a pat on the back.
Now, there is only one last step remaining.
Log into your new website via this link – www.your-website-name.com/wp-admin
